A Chinese Silver And Stone Documentary Presentation Piece, Circa 1900 formed with a brick from the Beijing wall and a stone from Kulo (Mongolia), applied with four silver dragons and surmounted by a small silver figure of a European with bayonet, the silver base plate with a long inscription in Russian and impressed Chinese characters, the figure inscribed with Chinese characters 21 cm Long. Catalogue Note An approximate translation of the Russian inscription translates To Ozby Alfredovich Modi In memory of the battles of Beitan on 20/VII, of Beitsan on the 23/VII, of Yangsun on the 24/VII of Qian cai-wan on the 29/VII and occupation of Beijing on the 1/VII 1900; in memory of defence of Yingkou, (T....), Haisen, Aisazai (?), from 1/IX to 1/XI and Shanghai guan, Jinzhou Fu, Kobanza (?), Yinkou from 1/XI 1900 to 1_1902; and numerous surveillance missions, cross-fires and bloodshed (3rd squadron) near Kant Haize (?) on the 24 - I 1901 in Liaodun Province and in Mongolia.
