A monumental 19th century ebonised automata bracket clock English, third-quarter of 19th century, retailed by P. Orr & Sons, Madras, the Georgian style ebonised case with domed top decorated with cast gilt bronze mounts above a rectangular glazed door flanked by two pairs of composite fluted gilt bronze columns above a square plinth and raised on large lion's paw feet with masks and scrolled decoration, the 14 inch dial with a later painted chapter ring and subsidiary dials for day/date and month, with strike/silent and an automata stage scene with four figures playing bells, a bell ringer and a conductor, with rise and fall curtain, with an eight day triple fusee musical automata with full calendar, eight bells and a gong, striking on the quarter hour, half hour and hour with Westminster chimes, the conductor is activated on the hour (not working), 79 cm wide, 47 cm deep, 125 cm high
