An Australian full cedar postal desk Circa 1880, by James Lawson, the rectangular top with central double sided hinged writing slopes, one lacking leather insert, with writing sections to either end, both lacking leather inserts, above pedestals with four drawers to either side and to either end, each with brass post box and glass name panel, maker's paper labels in every drawer (some partial) and in the two writing slopes each of which reads ' James Lawson / Cabinet Maker & Upholsterer / 265 George Street / Sydney, 160 cm wide, 118 cm deep, 89 cm high
