Cec pepper's cricket bat from Victory Tests, Australian Services Team v England, India & Ceylon 1945-46: full size 'Gradidge' cricket bat, match-used, with signatures of 9 members of the Australian Services team on reverse - Christofani, Keith Miller, Williams, Ellis, Workman, Stanford, Sismey, Carmody & Cec pepper. A gift from Cec pepper to Ben Barnett, the Australian wicket-keeper in 1946, who in turn gave it to Ned Keleher, then by descent to our vendor. Fair/good condition. (Cec pepper, in the first Victory test at Lords hit the winning runs - a 6 - into the top tier of the grandstand; scoring 40 and 54 not out. He was second only to Miller in most runs during the Tests (417 pepper, 514 Miller), and second to Ellis with 20 wickets. In the game v England at Scarborough he scored 168, including 6 sixes with this bat - Cec being one of only three greats to hit a six out of the Scarborough ground (in Company with Wg Grace)).
