Description:
An ivory mid-19th century netsuke, signed Shunkosai (Chogestu). A very fine well carved and amusing study of a fat bellied Tanuki (badger) beating his tummy, the sumi stained hairwork is extremely well rendered and the piece is signed on a rectangular reserve.
