A fine Waka Huia, attributed to Jacob William Heberly (Hakopa Heperi) 1849-1906, the dark brown wooden vessel of oval shape with two projecting carved faces at either end, two large faces at centre on opposite sides continues as a raised band across middle section of the lid, two mirrored Koruru heads on opposite ends of the lid, the tongues of which act as fittings to secure the lid to the base section.
