A Waka Huia Carved by Master Carver, Pineamine Taiapa, Ngati Porou. Strong Rauponga carving across the body at the vessel extending to opposite heads with Raperape carving on the crest of each, Paua inlaid eyes and tongues protruding. Provenance; carved as a wedding gift to an East Coast relative of the vendor, 1930s. Note some faults
