Maori tobacco pipe carved tattooed faces with tiny paua shell eyes, the two gold bands are marked 9ct gold hallmarked G.P. (May be George Pretkethly - New Zealand Jeweller and Goldsmith). Also marked Christeson, who was a Wellington tobacconist, the carver is probably Tom Heberley according to the Auckland Museum, the words Kia Ora carved into the wood. Length 14 cm
