A Fine Laos Temple Buddha, c.19th century, of teak, lacquered and gilded, the fine featured visage with serene expression and downcast eyes flanked by pendulous ear lobes, the hair in tight curls rising to a domed ushnishna standing with arms pendant at his sides 'calling for rain', wearing a long flowing robe with central pleat secured with a belt above a three tiered detachable pedestal decorated with lotus flower motif and inscribed with script at base to one side, Luang Prabang,108 x 25 cm Provenance: From an Australian collection, purchased at Bonham's & Goodman's, Sydney, 6 August 2007, Lot 123
