A Large Imposing Marriage Screen, Of wood and black lacquer with gilt and colour enamels. A main large panel of embossed landscape, blue mountain wrapped in mist, pines at foot and sides floating on black ground enclosed in a double frame of lotus scrolls in cartouches alternating with hatching in a gilt bound together by large carved knots. Calligraphy upper left on painting 'Ching Ming Fong Tze' (Rocky peaks on green mountain'. Seal reads 'Ze sien mei' (Fragrant studio of life) Head of two enormous gilded dragons joined by arch, topped with a lotus spray. Pink blue and gold clouds fill the gap. Suspended from dragon mouths are two large pendants, representing gold and jade. Golden Jui-i: 'Fang lin Tze Siew' (most beautiful age for offspring). Reverse incised with 'Pu ni pu qi' (never be separated from this jade). Green pendant: 'Chang min bao yu' (precious jade for appeasing the spirits), 'Mofu mo zhou' (realising a personal ambition), 'Xian shoa min chang' (longevity of immortal and flowing abundance).
