Pair of Cloisonne Buddhistic Lions, The fine large cast bronze and cloisonne lions are predominantly turquoise with exposed metal highlights. The bronze manes with finely cast and chased tight curls. Each has a brocaded ribbon collar and trappings with a suspended bell at front. The female has her left foot placed on her cub, the male's foot on a brocaded ribbon ball. Seated on a yellow cloisonne 'carpet' draped over the turquoise and brocaded rectangular base with key fret border. Each set on a carved wood rectangular plinth base. Late 19th century Height 45 cm.
