Description:
A cloisonne elephant, carrying a vase with a pair of gilt masks holding rings in their mouths for handles either side of bulbous body on high foot, the elephant's head and trunk turned to one side. Gilded ears and tail, covered with a red saddle cloth. Spears protrude from vase suspending bats. Overall cloisonne pattern on a light blue ground. Period: late 19th century Qing Dynasty 87 cm
