A superb gilt bronze sculpture of Tsong Khapi, c.17th century, seated in dhyanasana above a double lotus platform with beaded rim, his hands in vitarka mudra holding separately cast lotus flower stems flanking his shoulders and supporting seated deities, wearing flowing robes decorated with wave borders, the fine featured visage with serene expression, the lower rim of his eyes with applied red mineral earth pigment, the rear of his robe with inscription in relief, exceptional quality, Tibet, 32 x 22 cm.
