A fine Boiken dance mask, of wood in ovoid form with projecting terminals, the visage with bulbous forehead above a projecting curved nose tapering to a fine point, pierced eyes, mouth and outer rim, the rear with surface encrustations, the anterior decorated with polychrome pigments and old enamel paint below smooth surface patina, Sepik Plains,Papua New Guinea, 45 cm.
