A superb Jain sandstone sculpture, c.11-13th century, of Museum importance, in the form of a female deity, seated above a mythical lion and kneeling attendant, holding a cherub to her left breast and offering mangoes to a cherub below her right knee, her naked torso adorned with jewels, her fine featured visage with almond eyes and prominent brow below an elaborate head dress, a circular nimbus to the rear, recessed within an arch decorated with floral motifs and a central seated figure in relief flanked by two celestial attendants, superb detail, consistent weathering, India, 63 x 39 cm.
