Important Victorian Carved Jet Centrepiece, displayed at the Crystal Palace Exposition Hyde Park, London, 1851, modelled in the form of a lidded chalice, leading to a quadraform stepped platform, with barley twist pillars, and a circular spreading lobed foot, and French scroll toes, the whole object with incised motifs of stars and irregular formed geometric patterns, resting in its original glass dome and padded base, height 33 cm overall height 44 cm.
