An extensive photo album, DVD of Photos and Scrapbook belonging to New Zealand er Richard George Hampton (b. 1906). Richard worked for internal Affairs and as a consequence travelled extensively. He attended the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he obtained Jack Lovelock's signature. In 1945 he was accepted by the UN as Welfare relief Officer in Warsaw (Unrra). Excerpt, 'We were found accommodation in a bombed out block of flats with most of the building in a tumbled heap down in the courtyard. We had one small room, a bed, a small toilet and a wood and coal fired stove to heat US through the Polish winter. For food we shared US PX rations with other members of the mission but otherwise lived largely on what we could get in the Polish shops, the video includes views in the area around our lodgings'.
