An unusual small notebook from World War II which contains what appears to be code, the book commences with artillery ranges, however, the remainder of the notebook documents travels and liberation as a Prisoner of war, the owner is unidentified but appears to have been taken prisoner in Italy and then transported to Germany where he is liberated by the Americans and sent back to New Zealand via the New Zealand General Hospitals and Casualty Clearing Stations, the keeping of such a notebook by a prisoner would have been strictly forbidden which is likely why this has been written in such a coded manner. An interesting and researchable item
