A very interesting World War II photograph album of Gunner W.E. Jones 29 battery6th field Regt. From 1940-45, the photos are annotated and are contained in a period embossed leather souvenir album. Images include damaged tanks as well as vehicles in the desert. Jones appears to have got hold of captured film as some 1941 images from Bardia show New Zealand / British prisoners under German guard as well as Panzers. Other images from Tunisia and Bardia show German graves, a German half track captured by 28th Maori Bn, a shot down German plane and pilot and also Jones and his battery. Whilst the obligatory scene shots also appear in this album there are a number of interesting unpublished photographs depicting the war in north Africa
