Rafaelle Mainella, (1856-1941 Italian), 'Venezie in Lagona' drawing-watercolour on paper heightened with white/tempera. Mainella was educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. At a young age he painted in oil but after a few years changed to watercolour. He preferred painting the Venetian countryside. He was and still is considered one of the premier watercolourists of any time. He is exhibited in major galleries and museums around the world. Unframed, 45 x 24.5 cm, signed lower right
