Joan Campbell (1925-c.1997) Three 'Sea Eggs' c.1988 Pottery, fired with seaweed from Bathers Beach, Fremantle Diameter Approx 15 cm each. Provenance: Direct from the artist's studio, 1988. 'She also began to wonder about seaweed on the beach. Placing some of it in the kiln began a whole series of treatments which no longer used slip - only the clay and fire. The proof that nature could give expression to itself in this way was a very exciting discovery'. Joan Campbell, Potter by Luceille Hanley, Fremantle Arts Centre Press, 1984, p19
