A Meissen figural group of the Rape of the Sabines, after J.J. Kandler, late 19th century, the classical youth carrying the struggling Sabine woman over his shoulder, both figures semi-clad, he with a purple robe and she with a yellow floral robe, the tree-trunk support and base applied with leaves, blue crossed swords, impressed numerals 125, incised numerals 190, restoration to one hand and minor chip to leaves and base. Height 23 cm
