A Charles X gilt bronze and patinated figural mantel clock, second quarter of 19th century, depicting a female allegorical figure standing reading from an open book on a lectern in the form of two winged griffins, the plinth inset with a Roman numeral dial with moon hands, the twin train movement with silk suspension and outside count wheel striking on a bell, stamped 6/3578, raised on a rectangular plinth front by a wreath, raised on scrolled foliate feet.
