A good early Victorian mahogany extension dining table with three leaves, in the Chippendale taste, the rectangular top with gadrooned edge above a plain frieze with ribbon and flower head edge, raised on elegant cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet, the leaves of varying sizes, the winding mechanism with a plaque with the Royal coat of arms, Sam Hawkins, York No. 2 John St, Kingslandne, London. Length 317 cm (extended). Depth 124 cm. Height 76 cm. Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's family from Jr Lawson's sale of the contents of Sir Samuel Horden's 'Babworth house' in October 1957.
