A Victorian sterling silver Presentation Basket With South Australian Relevance Maker's mark Henry Holland London 1850 Of serpentine circular outline bearing the inscription 'Presented to George Fife Angas Esqr. M.L.C 20th Sept 1853' the opposing side with an armorial crest and the Latin inscription 'Pro Rege Lege Grege' (for the King the Law and the People) with embossed foliate decoration beneath a swing handle raised on a lobed circular foot 768grs total weight of silver 28 cm diameter. Note: George Fife Angus (1789-1879) was a prominent South Australian businessmen and Member for the Legislative Council for the Barossa district.
