A Victorian Ivory Handled sterling silver Presentation Trowel Of Victorian Relevance Maker's mark George Unite Birmingham 1865, the pointilated blade bearing the inscription 'Presented to Mrs Holt of Sedcourt (sic) on the occasion of her laying the foundation stone of the Presbyterian Church Glenorchy 12th April 1865' terminating in an ivory handle within a fitted presentation case 192grs total weight 28 cm long. Note: the inscription actually refers to a Victorian Western Districts sheep station by the name of Ledcourt near the town of Glenorchy. Mrs Holt was the wife of pastoralist John Holt who took over the Ledcourt license in 1868 after his arrival in Australia in 1863., the trowel is accompanied by a letter confirming its history
