Robert Garrard Victorian silver gilt lidded chalice, London, 1874 surmounted by the figure Eros, bow drawn and resting on a shaped platform supported by five caryatids, the deep bowl, decorated with female torsos resting atop lion mask heads, each applied with release straps, the figural pillar modelled as Atlas amid grasshoppers and lizards, the whole resting on a stepped circular foot with figures of winged putti amid stylised foliate bands.
