The World War II photos of Sgt. Jams Vernon General Lord Freyberg's driver for 4 years. James 'Jim' Alfred Darcy Vernon, born 24 January 1922. He enlisted in the New Zealand army service Corps in Wellington in 1940 and was given the rank of driver. He served as the personal driver to General Freyberg for 4 years and returned to New Zealand in January 1945, the images are contained in a modern album and are largely annotated. They include portraits, scenery and photos of Freyberg.
