A Regence style gilt bronze, ebony and brass inlaid boulle marquetry bureau plat, French, 19th century, in the manner of Andre-Charles Boullethe rectangular moulded brass bound top with cabochon clasps, decorated profusely with scrolled arabesques and bacchanalian figures and birds above a frieze decorated with scrolling foliage and filled with three panelled drawers with female mask escutcheons, the reverse with three simulated drawers, the sides mounted with conforming masks, on cabriole legs headed by espagnolette masks and terminating in acanthus and hoof sabots, 142 cm wide, 81 cm deep, 76 cm highNote:For an identical bureau plat see Bonhams London, Fine English & Continental Furniture, Tuesday 13 March 2007, lot 160.
