1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 Saloon, Chassis No: 1009018-22-003820, Engine No: 100981-22-003922, Registration No: TBC. Continuing the post-war renaissance Mercedes-Benz in the 1960s, the range of exclusive cars combined a mix of engine sizes and body shells in saloon, coupe and cabriolet form. The top of the range was reached when 6,300cc engine from the 600 limousine range was squeezed into the long-wheelbase 300SE shell. Only 6,526 of these very rapid saloons were made and became the chosen transport of captains of industry, leading political figures and top racing drivers. Log books supplied with this car indicate that it was delivered in Australia on the 14th March 1969. Finished in Metallic Grey Beige, the paint presents very well indeed. While the interior is in usable condition the rear seats would particularly benefit from a re-trim, a quote of around $2,500 has been suggested as a reasonable figure to carry out this work
