c.1954 MG TF1250 Roadster, Chassis no. TF5156, Engine no. 35230, Reg: PM -107 expired. 'Of all the cars which we have occasion to drive, there is one above all others which, by its every characteristic, clearly defines the term 'sportscar' wrote Road and Track magazine in 1954. Launched in 1953, the TF was the last in an esteemed line of T-type Midgets and was powered by the well proven XPAG 1,250cc engine. A sleeker sportscar than the TD, the TF now had a shortened and also sloping radiator grille, headlamps faired into the wings and the cockpit now housed individual adjustable front seats. Weather equipment was taut and snug, and although the last of the MGs to have a vintage feel, performance now nudged towards 80mph. Delivered new in Australia by Ron Ward the M.G agent in Ashfield N.S.W and fully restored by Rod Brayshaw Automotive PalmerstonNorth, New Zealand in 1987, this TF is in really outstanding cosmetic condition in all respects. It has also been sensibly modified to increase drive- ability under modern road conditions with the fitting of an MGA disc brake front end with hydraulic clutch and brake operation together with a high ratio rear axle. Brooklands aero screens are fitted and the car is finished in MG red with light brown trim. A sound and usable classic for the enthusiast.
