Ernest Tyldesley's Cricket Bat From 1926, full size Windett and Smith - Ernest Tyldesley Cricket Bat, signed by Tyldesley in the ownership position, and endorsed 1926, Average 123.08, 12 Successive Innings - 144, 69, 144*, 226, 51, 131, 131, 126, 106, (Eng) 81, 44, 139, 85. It was later signed by the 1932 England Body-Line Team - 16 signatures including Douglas Jardine, Wally Hammond and Harold Larwood. The bat has been re-inforced with twine at base, and shows results of its heavy usage. The signatures and endorsements on reverse have been improved for display purposes. Provenance:- Family of Ernest Tyldesley. Tyldesley, remains Lancashire's most prolific run-getter of all time, and played 14 Tests 1921-29. The 1926 season saw him batting better than ever, playing a succession of innings in July unrivalled in cricket history for its consistency in scoring 50 or better in 10 consecutive innings
