A fine Chinese seated Amitabha, Ming, 17th century of excellent proportions, in lacquered and painted wood, his downcast eyelids, glass pupils and slightly smiling lips rendering a contemplative expression, his hands clasped together in his lap and wearing an ornate crown with a central figure of Buddha, long flowing robes with remains of the original cloth exposed by the worn lacquer and paint, the back with original prayer niche evident, 130 cm high
