Britten the arched case with long glazed door with carved decoration below the dial terminating in a panelled base, the 12 inch signed silvered dial with concentric minutes and subsidiaries for running seconds and Roman numerals, the substantial movement set on a heavy cast iron bracket, the substantial plates united by four turned pillars, maintaining power to the deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, high count pinions and wheels of six crossings, the long crutch with micrometer regulation to a mercury jar pendulum with engraved regulation nut mounted on the backboard, with beat scale.
