A very rare and interesting early 17th century German clock movement with four fusees, possibly Augsburg, the tall rectangular iron frame set to each corner with square-section pillars, the four trains mounted in pairs, side-by-side with a steel plate mounted vertically in the centre of the movement, the trains control: the going, with verge and (later) foliot; the quarters and two trains for the hours, all converted in their early life to chain drive, the front dial of engraved brass with outer Arabic dial and Roman quarter notation enclosing a brass Roman dial and Arabic alarm setting dial, the rear dial of engraved brass decorated with strapwork and scrolls the frame 11.
