An interesting late 18th century mahogany floor standing regulator, William Croft, London, the case with circular hood over a lyre shaped trunk on a tapering base, later decorated with a Romantic 'Watteau-esque' scene of figures, the signed 13 inch circular silvered one-piece dial with concentric Arabic minute track enclosing subsidiaries for seconds and hours, the movement with tapering plates united by five knopped pillars, bolt and shutter maintaining power to a deadbeat escapement with high count pinions, 182 cm high
