A Victorian inlaid walnut chess and sewing table, circa 1880s, the hinged circular top with moulded edge and a parquetry chess board surrounded by stringing and scrolls in fruitwood and ebony, opening to an interior with lined compartments, and raised upon an octagonal tapering column on three cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf detailing, with chess playing pieces inside.
