A pocket compass, donated for a charity auction on 23rd September 2010, by the Hon. Alexandra Shackleton, from the Shackleton family collection., the fully magnetized compass is housed in an oak frame with brass fittings, and is circa 1860s., 66 x 66 mm., Alexandra Shackleton has been much involved in her grandfather's legacy and is a past president of the James Caird Society.
