An Australian General's cap, made by Hawkes & Co. Ltd., 1 Savile Row W., circa 1920s. With evidence of being worn, including perspiration stains to inner lining. Otherwise in superb condition. While it is rare to see a General's cap on the market - from any period of Australia's military history - this cap May be truly unique and important. Acquired some years ago by the present vendor, from a prominent Ballarat collector/dealer, who passed away recently. He claimed that this was Sir John Monash's last General's cap, worn on ceremonial occasions in the last years of his life.
