Aboriginal shield. 'Wunda Shield', Mid-late 1800s. Beewood or sheoak & ochre. Front incised with traditional zigzag pattern & coated in alternating lines of red & white ochre. Reverse carved with vertical fluted lines, handle has carved square pattern. Pilbara, Western Australia. 66 cm x 14 cm.
