A Sancai-glazed Pottery dish. Liao Dynasty, 10th century. The dish is molded in the center with a single chrysanthemum, encircled by peony blossoms highlighted with an amber glaze and leaves in a green glaze, all set against an ivory background. An almost identical example was sold at Christie's, from the Peter Scheinman collection, lot 65, a Sancai-glazed pottery dish from the Liao Dynasty, 10th century, Sold US$6,875.
