A rare pair of Chinese coromandel screens. Kangxi period, 17/18th century. A rare and Important pair of Kang Hsi incised coromandel lacquer screens of unusually fresh colouring and fine original detail. The front with scenes from domestic life with a Mandarin seated in a pavilion in gardens with various groups of figures engaged in different pursuits. Within a border with flowers and symbols of the hundred Antiques, the inner border with dragons and scrolls, the reverse with a long dedicatory inscription in gilt characters within a border of fruit and flowers.
