Isezaki Mitsuru was a prominent Bizen potter known for his dedication to traditional techniques and significant contributions to the Bizen pottery tradition alongside his family. 1934: born in Bizen city, Okayama Prefecture, as the eldest Son of Isezaki Yozan. 1964: Became a full member of the Japan Kogei Association (Nihon Kogeikai). 1972: Appointed President of the Bizen To-shinkai (Bizen Pottery heart Society). 1974: Received the Kaneshige Toyo Award. 1984: awarded the Okayama Nichinichi newspaper cultural Award. 1987: Became a judge for the Japan Kogei Association's Chugoku branch. 1990: Received the Okayama Prefecture cultural Encouragement Award. 1994: awarded the Sanyo newspaper cultural Merit Award. 1998: won the Tanabe Art Museum grand prize for the 'Form of Tea' exhibition. Together with his brother, he was recognized as an Important Intangible cultural property of Okayama Prefecture. 2011: Passed away.
