A Longquan celadon 'Lotus Petal' bowl. Southern Song Dynasty, (1127-1279). This exquisite bowl is expertly shaped with deep, rounded sides, and features a carved exterior adorned with overlapping petal motifs that ascend from the base. It is uniformly coated with a thick, pale sea green glaze, lending it a tranquil appearance. A comparable example was auctioned at Christie's for HK$201,600. Provenance: private Japanese collection.
