A blue and white 'Sanniangjiaozi' dish. Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, 17th century. The central medallion finely decorated with a seated lady in a pavilion watching a boy playing beside a lake with a leaping carp and a phoenix amongst bamboo trees, the exterior with three similar carps above rolling waves. According to some plates displayed at the Tianjin Museum, this hole mark on the back looks like an Imperial sign indicating a specific fixed temple within the palace. Provenance: Bonhams, London.
