A Wine glass - Notts Militia, English circa 1800, ovoid bowl, short plain stem with central knop, and a thick flat foot, engraved with Notts Militia in banner, basal cut flutes. 10.3 cm high. Engraved for Notts Militia, a defensive band formed as needed from the local men-folk. They were called up to defend the country during the Napoleonic Wars and perhaps this glass is linked to that.
