Description:
A milchglas tankard, Bavaria circa 1769, cylindrical body in white opaque milche glass with a pewter lid attached to a fine strap handle with a pewter foot rim bowl, lid engraved with 'FMS' and '1769'. body enamelled with a band of floral sprigs and bordered with orange and yellow and a wavy blue line, top and bottom. 22.5 cm high 12 cm diameter. We have dated this partly from the lid. but it has to be admitted that the pewter is in unusually good condition for this age. The bidder should rely on his own judgement.
