An ancient Druids marriage tumbler, English circa 1790, cylindrical tapered bowl, and a polished pontil foot, profusely engraved with Druidic symbols, 'Ancient Druids', 'I & Ann Marchington', the last suggesting a marriage tumbler. Height 100 mm, Foot/Stem/Bowl 76/90 mm. The Ancient Order of Druids was founded in 1781, and was quite independent of Freemasonry. Examples of engraved glass with this subject are rare.
