Early 20th century Frances MacDonald MacNair (1873- 1921) silver and enamel rose brooch, central Mackintosh styled roses in orange and green, 40 mm dia, Frances MacDonald MacNair in 1891 she enrolled at Glasgow school of Art. She was a pivotal artist and designer in the development of the Glasgow style and Art Nouveau aesthetic. Frances being the sister-inlaw of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Another of this brooch is held in the Met New York collection
