19th century Dutch gilt silver niello chatelaine, stamped with single sword mark, surmounted to the waist clip with a superbly cast seated putti holding a bowl, set before engraved neoclassical acanthus and scroll designs, above two hinged panel links terminating at closed armoured hands, clutching a fine gilt book form vinaigrette and a gilt silver citrine seal, total weight 57gm, total length 18 cm published: "How the watch was worn, a fashion for 500 Years', by Genevieve Cummins, colour plate 181, page 76.
